First Steps
I took a few months to stock up on supplies & look into patterns before I even BEGAN to touch any supplies for my suit! It's crucial to have an action plan to save the stress, cost, time and resources that go into these things!
Being on a budget, I invested most of my supplies from budget-friendly outlets, such as: foam from Walmart & Michael's, fur from Amazon, glue, sewing supplies, paints etc. from dollar stores & Temu....
The affordability and slow splanning over a year span helped me put money aside to buy higher quality fur from Big Z for upgrades & a fullsuit further down the way!
My patterns were bought from Sky High Studios & hand-drafted myself! I watched a LOT of YouTube and TikTok tutorials & compiled Twitter threads for tips, tricks, and advise!
It also takes confidence, patience, and a LOT of trial and error to get to the point you want to be! 2 years later, I'm STILL making alterations to Stuffie, and I LOVE using her as a test dummy for new techniques!
